H.E. Metropolitan John, accompanied by Fr George Esber, Mr. Rokaz Soufia and Mrs. Jaklin Ogütveren, visited H.E. Dr. Franz-Josef Bode, the catholic bishop of Osnaburck in the residence of his episcopacy.
They discussed the orthodox-catholic relations and the importance of the orthodox existence, described by H.E. Bode as moderate, inside the dialog. The experience of the Antiochian oriental Church in the Christian Islamic dialog and in the ways of Christian Islamic cohabitation, was mentioned also as a principal and essential. The two bishops emphasized the particular rule of the Church in the middle east in promoting the peace in that region and in protecting the Christian existence there.
