A special joy distinguished the Liturgy on Sunday 6th May 2012 in the parish of St. Demetrius in Cologne. On this day, Hie Grace Ghattas Hazim presided over the Divine Liturgy in which Bishop Ephraim Malouli concelebrated and priests Abdo Najjar (Mhardeh), Elias Esber (the parish priest), George Esber and Deacon Gerasimus Kabbas assisted.
During the Liturgy, His Grace Bishop Ghattas delivered a sermon in which he explained the event of the healing of the paralysed man. He also expressed his joy at being among the parishioners of this blessed parish and he encouraged both the parishioners and the parish priest to look after and promote the parish.
During his visit to Germany, His Grace was accompanied by Rev. Fr. Abdo Najjar and Professor Nicholas Abu Murad.
After the Liturgy all were invited to the Agape prepared by the women of the parish.
