On Sunday the 29th of January, His Eminence John Yazigi celebrated the Divine Liturgy among the faithful of St. George's parish in Cologne. He presided over the solemn Liturgy in which Fr. Abdul Massih Sabongi and Fr. Michail Yamanoglu and deacons Romanos Alhannat and Parthenios Allati participated. A large number of faithful, of all ages, was present. They came in large numbers to the church to gather around their archpastor and welcome him into their parish.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence addressed the congregation of the faithful explaining the meaning of the paternity of God. How should we understand the paternity of God? In the Liturgy, said His Eminence, we call Him Our father, and this means that we are invited to be good children. To be good children is to be real brothers in Christ, to be modest, to be pure and to have a heart full of virtues. In this way, we are enabled to call him Father and we are worthy to be called children.
After the Liturgy, there was an Agape in which all the faithful participated.
