The parish of St. Demetrius in Cologne, Germany was full of faithful at the Liturgy of Nativity. His Grace the auxiliary Bishop Ephraim Malouli presided over the Liturgy in which also participated Fr. Elias Esber, the parish priest and Deacon Gerasimos Kabbas.

His Grace delivered a brief homily in which he explained that all creatures presented their gifts to the New-Born. The heavens offered the star, the earth the grotto, the shepherds the chant, the magi the gifts and humanity presented a Mother, the virgin Mary. We humans do not have anything except a pure heart to give to the Baby of the grotto; a heart full of virtues, a heart which is to be not only that in which the Christ is to be born, but a throne for the true King of our lives. In this way, peace and prosperity rule.  His Grace concluded the homily by wishing to all the faithful a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
