Two lectures at Edgehill Methodist College in Belfast

His Eminence Metropolitan John Yazigy delivered two lectures at Edgehill Methodist College in Belfast. A number of instructors and students, along Mr. Michael Earle, Executive Secretary of the Irish Inter-Church Meeting, participated in the lectures.

The first lecture was entitled “Thoughts on Orthodox Spirituality.” In it His Eminence spoke on the meaning of Orthodox Spirituality and on how to achieve it in our daily lives.

The second lecture was entitled “Theology and Worship in the Orthodox Tradition.” In the first part of this lecture Fr. Irenaeus gave an introduction to the theology of worship. This was followed by His Eminence’s talk on the relationship between liturgy and theology, how they connect to our daily lives, and how they express the love that binds us together, which is the image and expression of love that binds the three persons of the Trinity in holiness. His Eminence also answered questions from the audience at the end of both lectures.
