Visit to the head of the Anglican Church and the head of the Catholic Church in Ireland
His Eminence paid a visit to the head of the Anglican church in Ireland, Archbishop Alan Harper. The local bishop Alan Abernethy of Connor joined the meeting in the diocese headquarters in Armagh. His Eminence spoke about the various issues facing the Orthodox and Anglican churches, and the possibility of them aiding one another and strengthening the bonds that exist between them.
After that His Eminence visited the head of the Catholic Church in Ireland, Cardinal Sean Brady. The atmosphere of the visit was very encouraging.
In the evening the clergy celebrated with His Eminence the Presentation of our Lady to the Temple in the church of Saint Ignatius of Antioch in Belfast.
